Research has shown that leading medications prescribed for Acid Reflux (dyspepsia, GERD) contributes to Dementia, and a host of other health conditions, including Kidney Damage.
Interesting, take a pill for acid reflux and end up with kidney damage and dementia!
(No Thank you, it is time to try something else!)
Proton Pump Inhibitors are a class of medication aimed to decrease the acid released in your stomach. Aside from the possiblity of getting dementia and kidney disease -- you risk not digesting your food enough, not killing harmful germs entering your stomach from the food you ate, and becoming deficient in essential vitamins and minerals.
You need your stomach acid -- if you didn't your body would not have put it there!
Take Control of Acid Reflux and Heartburn:
1. Change your diet: Eat a lot less fried food, dairy, sugars, and fatty meats.
2. Drink more water.
3. Have your spine examined by a good Chiropractor. Your spine protects the nerves that control your stomach acid production and the normal function of digestion. It makes perfect sense to check the source of the problem first.
If your neck or back shifted out of alignment -- it needs to be corrected.
This can be a major contributor to your acid reflux and stomach dysfunction.
We see this often in practice.
